Makeup has its own distinguished place in almost every women’s life. Being women’s best friend makeup is always involved in every occasion, be it a happy event or a sad one. School, college, work, office, since we women wear it everywhere, the debate, which is the best tool for makeup application must have troubled everyone at some point.

In this article we will be discussing the pros and cons of each applicator, to help you get out of this incessant and everlasting debate for good: 

Makeup Brushes:

Makeup brush suppliers were the first ones to introduce the concept of a makeup tool that could help in makeup application. Makeup brushes ever since their introduction centuries ago have been the most popularly used tools by the professionals and commoners till today.

With a wide range of brushes made for applying the specific product with perfection they offer many advantages:

Advantages:
  • If used properly, it is the fastest way to get the job done.
  • With regular washes, they are most hygienic makeup applicators.
  • Their blending is flawless, no visible streaks or line will be seen.
  • Building the layers of foundation with makeup brushes is easy peasy.
  • They can give good coverage without wasting the product.
  • They can easily reach the difficult areas of the face.
Drawbacks:
  • Brushes can be expensive, makeup brush suppliers offer a wide range of brushes available at different prices.
  • If they are not kept with care, they can lose their shape.
  • Poor quality brushes might leave streaks and lines on the face.

Fingers:

Fingers are all the time present for makeup application, making people swore that this is the best tool for makeup application.
Advantages:
  • They are free and always available.
  • No need to carry an extra tool in your makeup box.
  • By using fingers, no product will be wasted.
  • The natural body heat will help in blending foundation better.
Drawbacks:

With fingers, makeup application can get messy.
Sometimes on oily skin, with fingers makeup gets oiler.
If the hands are not washed properly they can cause acne.
Makeup might look cakey.
Fingers do not allow as much control as brushes or sponges which results in uneven application.

Sponges:

Being the latest breakthrough in the makeup world, these sponges are spread like a wildfire among the population, with their different shapes, sizes, and colors they are so far so successful in capturing the interest of many. 

Advantages:

  • They allow more control than fingers.
  • With sponges, you can get even foundation layer, without applying excess pressure.
  • With a damp sponge, you can achieve a naturally glowing makeup look.
  • They are not expensive.
  • Easy to use and carry inside a makeup pouch.
  • With their pointed tips, it is easy to apply makeup on hard to reach areas of the face.
Drawbacks:
  • A lot of makeup product is wasted, as they absorbent in nature.
  • It is important to wash them after every application.
  • In dry seasons, they can lift dry skin patches.
You cannot possibly go wrong while choosing either of these makeup applicators, it literally depends on your preference. And as far as this debate is concerned, which is the best makeup applicator, it won’t be ending anytime soon. So feel free to experiment with all three different types of makeup tools to form your own personal opinion.
